NAVUBPP educational program funded by the Department of Education
for qualifying vets. NAVUBPP
is dedicated to full development of the personal potential of all U.S.
military veterans assists by promoting the development, improvement
and extension of opportunities to veterans through needs assessment and
related activities. Forty-five Veterans Upward Bound projects are currently
funded across the U.S. -

together make up the ocean." Veterans
for a Change is a school, home, community project created by a teaching
staff in Lincoln, Illinois in 1992. Veterans come to school and teach in
the K - 8 classrooms each October. Children learn "service to others" by
collecting and donating change. Within the past 7 years, "change"
collected and donated to help veterans in Illinois V. A. Hospitals, exceed
$12,500.00. The rapport built between veterans and school is unmatched.
Freedom is not freeThis
program should be implemented in all schools across the USA. Freedom is
not free . Children need to be taught the sacrifices made by our veterans.
Forthcoming is a workbook to help other communities start such a program.
