From
the Home Front and the Front Lines
The Veterans History Project looks
at the human side of war through memorabilia collected by soldiers and their
families from World War I through the Persian Gulf War. Vintage photos
feature military brothers, WW II planes with nicknames like Dame Satan II, the
infamous Pork Chop Hill standoff, and the woman honored as Soldier of the Year
in 1982. Diaries
and scrapbooks recount experiences in 1919 Europe as well as WW II in Africa and
the Pacific theater. Romantic letters
reveal the heartache of war, while cartoon-decked envelopes and family
newspapers brought smiles to those in the trenches. Flags,
military
papers, and items
such as historic newspaper clippings flesh out the picture of the warfront and
the home front. This exhibit makes war about more than just strategy and
artillery -- it shows the real people on the battlefield and those at home who
they fought to protect

The AdoptaPlatoon Soldier Support Effort™ founded
in 1998 is a nonprofit 501C-3 organization managed nationwide
by volunteer mothers to ensure that deployed United States Service
members in all branches of the military are not forgotten by providing
needed mail support and to promote patriotism in our schools and
communities. To provide a better deployment quality of life, lift
morale, and assist military families, the AAP created projects
that meet the need of military requests, established special projects
for holidays, and assigns individual morale lifting mail support
to service members of all branches of the U.S. military serving
their Nation around the world |

Peentagon Launches Troop Support Campaign. The "America Supports You" effort is meant to help the Pentagon find all the
grass roots troop support programs -- fundraising drives, letter-writing
campaigns and such -- so they can communicate them to American forces serving in
Iraq and Afghanistan.
"This is a campaign to separate the people from the policy, the war from the
warriors," Allison Barber, the deputy
assistant secretary of defense for public liaison and internal communications told UPI, acknowledging the large numbers of Americans who
opposed the invasion of Iraq. "Even if you don't support the war you can support
the troops."

"Let no one be discouraged
by the belief that there is nothing one person can do against the enormous
array of the world's ills, misery, ignorance, and violence. Few will have
the greatness to bend history, but each of us can work to change a
small portion of events. And in the total of all those acts will be written
the history of a generation"- - Robert F. Kennedy |

Harms Way 4 Kids Video to the troops- "I light
this candle in honor of the men and women who have fallen in this war.
You are the heroes that will always be a symbol of American courage.
Your footsteps on this earth may have been shortened but now they are
imprinted in the minds and hearts of all of us forever........"Jenessa Alexis
Besides a heart warming video to our troops the primary purpose of this
site to GIVE bracelets to the families and friends of troops. Yes, in
this day and age there is no hidden agenda. Bracelets
from the heart and hands of a remarkable young lady. In her
words, "I am making these bracelets available to everyone who has
a loved one that has been deployed. No matter where they are stationed.
As of 12/31/2003 we have mailed out 60,000 bracelets to all parts of
the world "
Harms Way 4 Kids we salute you!
