Sponsors are requently civic groups or local chapters of   veterans' organizations. Sponsoring usually requires months of planning by dozens of local volunteers.

Includes features such as:  Coalition of Retired Military Veterans.On May 20, 1996 a group of retired officers and non-commissioned officers of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps met to discuss the continuous erosion of benefits to retired  military veterans. Of specific interest was that of medical benefits and the pomise of lifelong  medical care for themselves and their dependents. An organization titled Coalition of Retired  Military Veterans (CORMV) resulted from this meeting with its objective to restore the  deferred medical benefits promised them on entry into active duty and emphasized during their military career as a retention tool.
