• Membership.  Q-What's the deal with VVA and my membership renewal?

The VVA membership renewal process has become the hot topic of discussion. Yes there have been problems in the past. Yes there are still some problems to iron out. But let me attempt to shed some light on what is happening right now at the national office to help this process.

VVA is transitioning from the old database software, which is not Year 2000 compliant, to a Microsoft Access database. This change by itself will result in improved reporting capability for chapters, state councils, and regional directors, as well as the national office.

One priority is to transition all membership renewals to the member's anniversary date. Current VVA members who renew between March 1st and September 30 each year, will receive renewal dates one year from the last day of the month that VVA processes your paperwork.

If a current member renews between October 1st and February 28th, their renewal date will remain February 28th. 
..... 
All new members or renewing members who allowed their membership to lapse will receive a renewal date one year from the last day on the month in which your paperwork was processed by VVA.

It will require several years before the large surge of February renewal evens out.

VVA will continue to process both VVA and AVVA applications and renewals under this procedure.
