Born in Atlanta, Georgia 1947, raised on a 100 acre farm in Cherokee   County, Georgia.    
  • Married for 29 years 
  • Three children, 2 girls & one boy
  • Two granddaughters 
Employed by Turner Broadcasting System (11 years) as Director of  Engineering, CNN Radio networks.    
   
 Favorite hobbies include amateur (Ham) radio, WA4MPD, portrait and landscape photography, mountain bike riding, making home brew beer, and of course computers.    

Served 4 years active duty with the U.S. Air Force.

  • Entered service 22 JUN 67  
  • Basic Training with the 3276 Student Squadron, ATC, Lackland Air Force  Base, Texas.   Defense Information School, Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. 

    •  
  • Temporary assignment with the 3640 Pilot Training Wing, ATC, Laredo Air  Force Base, Laredo, Texas.

    •  
  • Assigned American Forces Radio/Television Service with 6213 Support  Squadron, PACAF, Taipei, Taiwan, (15 months). 

    •  
  • Next duty assignment was with 6486 Air Base Wing, Hickam AFB, Honolulu, Hawaii, (11 months) 

    •  
  • Temporary assignment with 31 Combat Support Group, PACAF, Tuy Hoa air Base,  Vietnam, PACAF.

    •  
  • Reassigned to HQ 7th Air Force, Tan Son Nhut Air Base, Vietnam, PACAF.  

    •  
  • Served in Vietnam from April 1970 to April 1971.

  • Separated from active duty Easter Sunday, April 1971 at Travis Air Force Base, , MAC, California.

 Campaign Platform 
 Some thoughts: I firmly believe we spend too much time with the  bureaucracy of the organization rather than attending to the needs of  veterans and lobbying Congress to maintain currents entitlements,  restore lost entitlements, and obtain additional benefits.    
Service Officers should be trained and funded by the national organization. There should be Service Officers available to any  veteran needing assistance.  
  
 VVA should work with all other VSOs as to present a unified voice to  Congress with the number of votes (veterans) to back up our demands.
