Hey Nancy:
It was nice to see you and Bill again at the Regatta.
Once again you made the day a special one for the veterans. I know
the people at the Yacht Club were very impressed by your presence.
You have a big heart and are a wonderful
person.
I regret you didn't get a chance to tour the event or even get something
to eat. I only wish I had a cold Coke in by back pocket for you when
you left. Please say hi to Bill for me. I look forward to meeting
you again.
I sent off all of the pictures to Ginger today.
She will be burning the midnight oil getting them all online.

Dear
Nancy,
In my tradition there the term “tikkun olam” is a basic goal of all
the Jewish people. The term means to work towards the perfection
of the world so that the Messiah would be able to arrive, that is,
to help heal the world of it’s hurts.
Over the last few years I have witnessed your efforts to help the hurts
of the world through your support and actions for veterans of all wars
but especially Vietnam veterans. You have used your time and resources
to bring pleasure
and joy to those in need or to those who are deserving because of their
service to America.
There is another term that we Jews use which is “Mitzvah.” The
term literally means to perform a “commandment.” A “commandment”
is an obligatory action. Through the years “Mitzvah” has developed
into a “good deed” which implies a voluntary act. Your voluntary
acts speak to the highest standards of conduct between a person and
fellow human being.
I have the highest respect for you and your service to America and it’s
veterans. You are truly a “Mensch.”
